It’s not over yet… but boy has it been interesting.
A mix of beautiful to chaotic to sad to perfect…
Mostly just plain BUSY!
2023 has brought our son’s graduation from college, the death of a dear sweet friend from Jamaica, our daughter and son-in-law’s wedding, a 2 week trip to Ireland, officially becoming a non-citizen National, our brokers office of over 20+ years closing its doors without notice, finding a new place to run our family business, prepping, harvesting a bountiful garden God again blessed us with… and MORE!
The good thing about busy is it keeps your mind off of our world and what’s going on in it. Our world has always been wacky. People just didn’t have phones in their face throwing the worst possible news at them all throughout the day. Sadness sells. There’s definitely a reason you see more tragic news than good news. Then it comes down to setting boundaries for yourself ~ my advice… protect your space!
I will fully admit I used to get tied up in politics. I got over-involved and sucked in. I thought a president could save me from the wicked that has been running “the show” for so so many years. My mom knew and tried to tell me of the evil but I was too busy raising my children. I have gone down far too many rabbit holes in the last 3 years and am awake to the fact that no one is coming to save us ~ it is up to humanity itself to pull together and be honest about who they are really serving. It is instilling in us a new BS meter that is able to separate the wheat from the chaff.
WE have personally made the choice to take our rights back and opt out of the system.
WE have personally made the choice to thrive in change.
WE have personally made the choice to trust God in the grief.
WE have personally made the choice to celebrate all of the blessings God continues to provide us.
WE have personally made the choice to trust God in everything and watch the beauty unfold time after time.
How we see things matters!
The world says: numb, shove, deny, spiral, shut down, push away, mandate, live with guilt and regret.
God says: feel, heal, process, be in community, express, share, trust, hope, love, honor, hold space, and have grace.
IT IS A CHOICE!
You have free will.
While the last quarter of 2023 is almost here, we are hoping to rest in the cooler weather. To breathe. To read and educate ourselves on the many new things we want to tackle in 2024. To thrive in our business so we can GIVE. We expect times to become even “crazier”~ but always understand our choices in what we take-in and what we give out.
It’s not over yet… but boy it’s going to get more interesting!
