No Quick Fix
Lifestyles & Habits
I find it so odd we are the only mammals to be so confused about what to eat…
Why do all other mammals just instinctively know what to eat? They flow with the seasons, their environments, and tune into their intuition. Yet humans complicate nourishment to no end. What’s so complicated?
Don’t eat dairy! Don’t eat sugar! Don’t eat meat! Don’t eat fruit! Don’t eat gluten! Etc…
You get the picture.
In every corner of the internet people spend time arguing about what is the right diet for all. It’s interesting that we even allow ourselves to be consumed with such nonsense.
Personally I think you have to learn how the body works, apply that knowledge, and then determine what is right for YOU in your current season and state of health. Which can change and likely should as your health improves. Unfortunately that comes with a lot of education and trial and error. Work many just don’t want to do and responsibility many would rather not take. We live in a quick fix society… There’s no quick fix to being well, it’s a long haul-forever kinda thing.
Since most of us weren’t raised on purely whole foods, we have a lot of unlearning and relearning to do. Not to mention overall healing. And since we’ve moved SO far away from real foods we’re all struggling to come back to a place that is natural and “normal”.
Doesn’t matter which camp you reside in, pretty sure everyone can agree that fortified, industrial, commercial foods are not native or natural to our bodies. We can and should function without them. I remember early on in my Lyme healing with Dr. Jay Davidson… he always said “If it’s advertised on TV you should never eat it!”
To be really honest, nourishment isn’t that complicated. Our lifestyles and habits are just so toxic that we have hyper focused on nutrition to avoid confronting the parts of ourselves that are the major culprits for declining health. People are more willing to starve themselves than confront a chronic problem, for the sake of instant gratification.
After the MANY things I tried throughout my MANY years of fighting to heal, it was getting back to the basics that helped me the most! Reconnecting with the tools that have been provided to us since the beginning of time.
~ supporting the body with real whole foods (grow your own food)
~ restoring nutrient deficiencies
~ mineral rich hydration
~ healing trauma and supporting the nervous system
~ reducing toxic exposures in your environment
~ reducing exposure to high levels of EMF’s (electromagnetic fields)
~ spending time in nature
~ incorporating restorative rest
~ sweating
~ getting plenty of sunshine
~ knowing that a symptom is a signal that the body needs support
~ a natural approach to healing the body
Remember the power found in reconnecting with the healing tools that have been provided to us since the beginning of time.
